The Race and Mental Health in History and Literature seminar will take place on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia for the first and third weeks, and will relocate to visit several sites in the Washington, DC area during the second week.
In Blacksburg, the seminar will be hosted by the Virginia Tech Department of History in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. The seminar will take place in a fully equipped multi-media space in Torgersen Hall, which adjoins Newman Library. Both Torgersen and Newman Library have excellent wireless capacity and are a short walk from the residential hall and the on campus dining location, as well as downtown Blacksburg.
In Washington DC, the seminar will visit four sites.

–The National Library of Medicine, on the campus of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland
–The National Archives and Record Administration in Washington, DC
–St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, DC
